Steam cleaning

A deeper clean on a fraction of the water.

Dry vapour steam reaches temperatures conventional washing cannot, lifting grease, road film, and embedded soil from surfaces that brushes and chemicals struggle with. It sanitises as it cleans, uses a small fraction of the water of a traditional wash, and lets Nikola work almost anywhere, including indoor garages and hangars where run-off is not an option.

Why steam, and when it is the right call

Pressurised dry vapour carries very little moisture, so it lifts contamination without saturating the material underneath. That makes it the correct tool for cabin surfaces, headliners, vents, door shuts, engine bays, and wheel barrels, the places where standing water causes more problems than it solves.

Because the process is heat-driven rather than chemical-driven, it also reduces the amount of detergent that ends up on the vehicle and in the drain. For clients who care about that, it is the cleanest way to reach the same standard.

Sanitising as part of the clean

High-temperature steam addresses odour and bacteria at the source instead of masking them, which is why it is the foundation of Nikola's odour treatment work. Upholstery, carpets, child seats, and cabin vents come back neutral rather than perfumed.

Where it fits in a larger plan

Steam is often the first stage of a full interior reset, and a regular part of fleet and limousine turnarounds where vehicles must be back in service quickly. It pairs naturally with paint correction and ceramic work, since the exterior decontamination happens separately.

Straight answers

Is steam cleaning safe for leather and delicate trim?

Yes, when it is controlled. Temperature, dwell time, and distance are adjusted per material, and steam is followed by the correct cleaner and conditioner for the surface. Nikola tests an unseen area before working across a panel.

How much water does steam cleaning actually use?

Far less than a conventional wash, dry vapour systems work from a small onboard tank rather than a running hose. That is what makes the service viable indoors, in hangars, and in parking structures where run-off is not permitted.

Can steam cleaning remove smoke or pet odour?

In most cases, yes. Heat treats the source in upholstery, carpet, and the ventilation path rather than covering it. Severe or long-standing contamination is assessed first, and Nikola will say plainly if a panel or headliner needs replacement instead.
